This June we've found some great activities to do around Tacoma!
Enjoy the brilliance of local gardens, grab a festival brew or even a cold one while pulling some weeds, taste the local fare of the Lincoln District, hunt for treasure at a city wide yard sale, celebrate Juneteenth at Stewart Heights Park, and get excited for one of our favorites, outdoor movies.

June 1st & 2nd
This fabulously floral event is jam packed with activities! Soak up the sun while you tour the flora of the historic Point Defiance gardens or enjoy a crisp rosé and live music amongst the roses. This two-day event is for every flower enthusiast young and old, with make and take activities, gardening lectures, local food trucks, and even a paint and sip for our artsy friends. You can poppy-n at any time after 11am, this-tle surely be a great weekend to stop and smell the roses!
June 5th
Weeding always seems like such a chore, but what if you were able to do it with a good brew in hand? Help Emergency Network's Mother Earth Farm clear some pesky weeds and enjoy a local beer, on them. Mother Earth Farms believes everyone should have access to fresh, healthy produce regardless of their income. In order to maintain the crops they have already planted, they need your help! Green thumb or not, all 21+ volunteers are welcome to attend. Sign-up is required prior and you must show ID at the event. We always love a good reason to drink for a cause!
June 8th
Enjoy some nice refreshing Northwest brews and live music all in the same place at McMenamins 3rd annual Grit City Brewfest! Taste 24 local beers and ciders in your commemorative glass, snag some tasty food specials, and stick around for the jams. June 13th
Sit down with a few of our own local heroes and enjoy this fun story time event. Tacoma Firefighters will be joining The Curious Bear Toy and Book Shop for a few stories followed by an opportunity to learn more about what our firefighters do to keep us safe. The “Touch a Truck” session will be an awesome memory making time as your little one can explore an actual fire engine. This event is free and open to all, starting at 10:30am.
June 15th
Join our Fircrest neighbors for this community-wide yard sale. From 9am – 4pm you’ll be able to wander the city of Fircrest hunting for treasures while meeting your neighbors. Enjoy some yummy lunch and snacks in-between from 11: 30-2:30 from local food trucks at Fircrest Park. All Fircrest residents are welcome to participate in the yard sale, and neighbors from all over are welcome to shop! If you live in Fircrest and would like to participate, sign-up before June 6th to have your address added to the list of participating homes (addresses only, no names).
June 19th - August 7th
The W. W. Seymour Conservatory invites you enjoy some magical moments at the Radiance: A Summer Flower Show. The conservatory graciously sets up a marvelous display of each season's flora and this summer's creations is sure to impress. Enjoy heavenly scented flowers, otherworldly leaf textures, and a variety of wonders of this season's growth.
June 19th
Metro Parks has put together quite the Juneteenth Celebration! Enjoy 50+ vendors from local trade associations, local businesses, nonprofits, and finance. There will be live performances all day long, as well as an interactive kid's zone, face painting, and playground. This is a wonderful family friendly experience and all are welcome to attend for free!
June 22nd
We hope you’re hungry because Tacoma’s favorite street food festival is ready to serve. Food trucks, restaurants, beer gardens, and more! Celebrate the culinary diversity of Tacoma through food, drink, and music. I mean, our ears can eat up some sweet treats too, right?
Bonus: Just around the corner from the food walk with be a Vintage Market!

June 28th
Enjoy a FREE outdoor flick with the family on the 40-foot tall outdoor screen at LeMay’s Haub Family Field. Gates open at 6:30 for field fun and dinner at the on-site food trucks. Lawn chairs and yard games are welcome and there will be a picnic area in front of the screen for those who bike or walk to the event. This is a first come first serve event, so be sure to line up early. There will be various movies throughout the summer. This month's featured flick is The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
June 29th
What's better than one outdoor movie? TWO of course! Come grab a seat on the Cheney Stadium field for a viewing of the baseball classic, The Sandlot. Concessions will be open for snacks and blankets are welcome for seating (lawn chairs are not allowed). So gather the family together, snag a popcorn, and enjoy this FREE family flick!
