
March is here and we've found some great activities to check-out around Tacoma!
Celebrate beer all week long with local breweries, tap houses, and cideries as they have fun, get crafty, and bring awareness to some local charities, take a bus tour around the vast Port of Tacoma, snag some Irish treasures at Freighthouse Square, check out flicks from local film makers in support of water conservation, tour the trees of Hilltop, start your garden with help from the Point Defiance plant sale, shop local vendors at the huge Field House Flea Markets, and enjoy the first pitch with a frosty beverage at the Rainiers Opening Day!

March 1st – 9th

Tacoma Beer Week is back! Explore the Tacoma beer community with a week full of events aimed at promoting local businesses, educating even the most novice beer connoisseurs, giving back to the Tacoma community, and of course having fun! Enjoy learning about the science of beer, fundraising for local charities, new beer releases, bingo, glass blowing, music and live performances, beer and food parings, a sell-out live game show, and so much more. Tacoma breweries and tap rooms want to celebrate not just the love of a tasty brew, but a culture of care and love for the community. Here’s is a full list of the events line-up but below are a few we are looking forward to:
All Week: Tacoma Against Hunger Food Drive - Support Nourish Pierce County by dropping off non-perishable donations at one of the many participating locations.
March 6th: Grizzies and Glizzies at The Red Hot - Celebrate working-class beer and working class food at The Red Hot, with featured beers and one-day-only hot dog creations!
March 6th: Beer Week Trivia at Narrows Brewing - "The trivia rounds cover a wide range of topics: from the history of brewing to fun facts about Tacoma’s own craft beer scene. Questions might pop up about iconic hops, famous beer styles, or even quirky beer-infused recipes that tempt the taste buds."
March 7th: Blow Your Own Beer Glass - It's as cool as it sounds. This hands-on event allows you to form and blow your very own drinking vessel out of molten glass.
March 7th: Pouring It Forward: Hope is a Four-Legged Word - Head to Peaks and Pints for some tasty brews and help Mary Bridge Children's Hospital bring on another facility pup to give comfort and companionship to young patients.
March 8th: Earn Your Beer! - Join the Hash Haus Harriers for a run through the Brewery Blocks, starting at E9 Brewing with a few beer breaks along the way!
March 9th: Who Closed Last Night? - This neighborhood clean-up party starts at Common Grounds coffee and goes through the Brewery Blocks district. Earn a custon Tacoma Trash Panda sticker when you're done!
March 9th: Tacoma Beer Week 2025 Finale with Incline Cider - Enjoy a vast selection of local Incline ciders on tap at Peaks and Pints to close out another successful Tacoma Beer Week!
March 6th & 27th

Climb aboard and get an in-depth tour of one of the busiest ports in North America. Learn about the rich history of the Port of Tacoma and how it serves not just our community but countries all over! This two hour tour cruises from the Fabulich Center through the Port and the Tacoma Tideflats, and is “about as close as you can get to international trade.” Space is limited, so get your tickets in advance. Children ages 6 and older are welcome to attend.
March 8th

South Sound Makers Market along with the Celtic Attic are hosting the 4th annual Irish Festival. It just might be your lucky day to enjoy live performances, Irish sweet treats, a beer garden, and over 40+ vendors selling their fares. The market is free admission and family friendly!
March 14th

Ground to Sounds Film & Art Festival aims to educate the Tacoma community about protecting and restoring its natural resources through short films and art installations. In partnership with the City of Tacoma and Environmental services, enjoy an evening of locally made documentaries, interactive art, live music, local food, and more! Film contest winners will be announced along with winners of the new photo contest. This event will showcase not only local South Sound artists and filmmakers, but the beauty of the natural resources of our beloved Puget Sound.
March 15th

Walk, jump, skip, or ride through this tour of the Hilltop Neighborhood. Two separate tours, one by foot and one by bike will take a look at how Tacoma keeps urban areas green with trees and other plant life. Enjoy a tour of heritage trees and ID some common and lesser known species used to keep our Grit City growing.
March 22nd

It’s time to start planning out those garden beds. If you have a green thumb, or aspire to, this event is for you! Peruse a selection of roses, perennials, bulbs, grasses, and more at this annual event taking place in the beautiful Point Defiance Pagoda. You’ll even find some other treasures, like garden tools, hardware, sculptures, and books. Sales for this event support the work at the Point Defiance Rose garden and help to maintain the beautiful gardens that are so vibrant come spring time.
March 22nd

Support Puget Sound Women's League and shop from over 80 local vendors! This is one of the largest and oldest flea markets in Tacoma, going strong since 1968. Enjoy local art, clothing, vintage collectables, plants, letter press, and more. There will be a tasty take-away food inside and a yummy food court just outside curated by Tacoma Aroma Flavor. A $5 admission will be charged at the door for everyone five years and older and goes towards scholarships for future and current loggers.
March 28th

Play ball! Tacoma's beloved baseball team is ready to conquer another season. Enjoy some opening day antics, a frosty beverage, and the first of many firework nights. Then keep an eye on the schedule and events calendar for themed nights, appreciation days (teachers, military, TPU, First Responders, etc.), and of course Rose All Day Sundays, Cerveza Saturdays, and Craft Brew Wednesdays.
